Our story began long before we ever called it love, dating back as far as 2005 (yes there is photo evidence). We grew up parallel to one another in Greenville, but didn't connect regularly until freshman year of high school when we saw each other every week in youth group! Friendship came first, though Anna secretly had her heart set on Jake from the start. In 2017, our friendship grew into something deeper, and since then, we've been devoted to one another. College took us to different places with Anna staying in North Carolina and Jake moving to Maryland, but even miles apart, our bond only grew stronger. Every visit, every late-night call, and every (tearful) goodbye made us even more certain that the love we were experiencing was forever. One of our favorite parts of our journey has been the adventures we’ve shared, traveling all over, but none compare to what occurred August 2024. On the quiet shores of Ocracoke Island, with the sun setting over the water, Jake asked Anna to spend forever with him. It was the most beautiful “yes”! Now, we fill our days with travel, pickleball, cooking new dishes, and of course, cheering for the ECU Pirates! As our big day approaches, we’re grateful for a love that feels both like home and our greatest adventure, and we cannot wait to begin our forever surrounded by those we love most!! Love, The Lysaghts
