Sarasota County has great small neighborhoods and clean and safe urban areas. Prices get more expensive the closer to the beach you get (but the quality and fun increase with it!). If you are looking to stay further inland, we recommend not going any further East than I-75. The wedding venue is 2 miles off of I-75 Exit 195 Laurel Rd. For driving convenience, Clark Rd, Bee Ridge Rd, Fruitville Rd, and University Pkwy all have exits to I-75. No matter where you stay, it is typically under 20 minutes between I-75 and the coast. We recommend staying anywhere in Downtown Venice/Nokomis up to 12th Street in Sarasota. We do not recommend staying in the area North of 12th Street up to the airport. If you are staying around the airport, we recommend staying close to University Parkway or North of University Parkway. We have included a map of our recommended activities, shopping areas, and favorite beaches (see Things To Do page) to help better narrow down where you'd like to stay.
