Cheekwood is a beautiful historic estate outside of Nashville, TN, known for its sprawling gardens and art showcases in the mansion at the top of the hill! People typically spend about 2-3 hours enjoying the views, and adult tickets range from $20-$30, depending on if you're enjoying just the gardens or the mansion as well. Open Tuesday - Sunday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
One long standing debate the two of us will never settle is what genre of music is superior. While we agree that Taylor Swift's Speak Now album is a banger, Patrick is ultimately convinced rap is the best, whereas Jaime grew up a country girl at heart. Not saying anyone's trying to swing the vote, but... Nashville is Music City AND the home of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum! If you're a fan of country and/or want to give credit where credit's due, the bride would love for you to back her up on this. To check out the museum, adult tickets are just under $30 a piece. Open 9 AM to 5 PM everyday.
The Frist Art Museum is located in the heart of Nashville and is one of Jaime's favorite attractions in the area! With the space to hold 4 exhibitions at any given time, people can spend as little or as much time here as they like, though people on average spend about 2 hours here. Adult tickets cost $15 with those 18 years and younger getting in free, and they also provide military, college, and other discounts with proof of associated ID. Open Thursday - Monday with varying hours (see their website for more information).
Imagine a food court, but much bigger, with more unique food options (in almost any cuisine you can think of!), and that's Assembly Food Fall. Located right in the middle of Nashville, it's the perfect lunch spot for any group of people, no matter the size, because there is an option for everyone. If you have dietary restrictions, such as diary/gluten free, vegetarian, or vegan diets, you can go on their website and filter the bars and eateries open to see which specific options fit your needs. You can also filter by the type of cuisine you're craving on the website!
If the reception ends but you want to continue on with the fun, this is the bar to hop to! Located in downtown Dickson, it's an 18 minute drive from our wedding venue. It's open until 1 AM on Fridays, so you'll have plenty of time to continue on the party train if you are inclined to do so. We still aren't sure if we're doing an after party or not, but if we are, this is where we'll be!
If you're looking for a lunch spot to grab some food before the wedding, we cannot recommend Little Bite of Everything enough! It is a small, local, family-owned restaurant in the middle of downtown Dickson that serves burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, loaded mac and cheese bowls, and more. Located just shy of 20 minutes away from our wedding venue, it's the perfect place to grab a bite before celebrating our big day with us!
Centennial Park in Nashville is beautiful and home to our Parthenon! It's referenced in Taylor Swift's song "invisible string", which we love and plan on playing at some point during our big day, which means you have to check it out. We don't make the rules.
While Opryland is most known for its dazzling lights at Christmastime, it is a sight to see all year round. If you're coming in town for the wedding and you haven't walked through the three atriums, you definitely should! (Pro-Tip: to avoid having to pay for parking, park at the mall and walk over!)
Located on the other side of Dickson from our wedding venue, Montgomery Bell State Park holds a special place in our hearts. Both of us grew up spending time here camping in tents, hiking, having picnics, and in general enjoying nature with our families. If you love nature and are choosing to stay closer to Dickson rather than Nashville or Murfreesboro, it's definitely worth checking out.
