This is our favorite beignet spot in the city. We like to go here for date nights. Definitely get their yummy hot chocolate. The crawfish étouffée is also really good! Morning Call has been around since 1870.
We love this local sno-ball stand! Sno-balls ARE NOT snow cones! They are a delicious heaven on earth. J & J both love the coconut sno-ball flavor, but Jaime prefers it stuffed with chocolate ice cream and Jeff prefers vanilla. They have many flavors from berries to mint or even wedding cake and bubble gum. You can do multiple flavors, plus they have toppings!
Juan's is one of our favorite local spots for a chill dinner. We often eat at the mid-city location, but we also like the original location on Magazine Street. We recommend dining at either. Jaime's favorite is the blackened fish tacos and Jeff's is the Surf Punk burrito.
The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) holds many lovely contemporary and classical pieces. Although it problematic for anywhere to hold colonized ancient relics, NOMA does have several Buddhist pieces including a majestic larger than life Guanyin statue, several depictions of the Buddha, Wisdom Kings, and a Benzaiten scroll.
