Yes! We are planning to live stream the wedding ceremony as well as the dances (first dance, mother-groom dance, father-bride dance) and the speeches for those guests who would like to attend virtually. We support and encourage you to attend virtually if you'd prefer. We will send the live-streaming links to all invited guests. Since everyone will receive the link, when you RSVP please select "will not attend" so we can keep an accurate in-person guest count.
This event will take place at The 1930s House at the Confidante Hotel. This historic house sits adjacent to the hotel pool deck. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served. The house will be open-air and it includes an outdoor patio space. We request that guests consider wearing masks when not able to social distance. The attire is beach/island chic. If you're unsure what this means, brides.com offers the following advice: "Opt for a simple sundress, breezy maxi dress, or high-quality romper. While dressy sandals are acceptable, avoid standard, beachwear flip flops. Nice, short-sleeved shirts such as polos are permitted as well as nice shorts (think Chinos) with a belt. Lighter colors and/or bold prints will elevate your casual look. Avoid denim, cargo, and swim shorts. Cotton t-shirts are discouraged. This is the only instance when sandals may be acceptable, but ensure your feet as well-manicured before option for an open-toe look. If not, wear a deck shoe or loafer, never sneakers."
The wedding ceremony will take place at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. Our church has many parish events happening each day, and thus our wedding will start ON TIME at 2pm. Please plan to arrive by 1:30pm. Our church has been set up for social distancing (every other pew is closed off, pews separated in half by a ribbon to encourage distancing between families) and requires that masks be worn. Please plan for this and embrace the fun opportunity to coordinate your masks with your outfits ;) We will also be live-streaming the ceremony for guests who prefer to attend virtually. On our RSVP page, ONLY RSVP "will attend" if you are attending IN-PERSON. We will send the link for virtual attendance to all invited guests.
The wedding reception will take place at the Curtiss Mansion following the wedding ceremony. This is a completely outdoor event, though guests are welcome to explore the beautiful historic home at their discretion. We've decided to somewhat shorten the reception for the health and safety of all of our guests. The event will include an extended cocktail hour, traditional first dances, speeches, a delicious dinner buffet (no self-service), a dance party, and a few surprises. After the reception ends at 9:30/10pm, if you want to party the night away in Miami, we will gladly give you recommendations! However, we have chosen not to host a late-night party. Although the event is outside, the venue requests (and we agree) that our guests wear masks when not able to social distance, and when not eating/drinking or seated at your table, We have several guests who are particularly vulnerable, and are encouraging this as a sign of respect for them and for us.
We are committed to ensuring that all of our guests have safe and adequate transportation for the wedding events. Details will be finalized based on the final guest count and the expected transportation needs.
February in Miami is our "winter" and our peak travel season! The average high temperature is 75° and the average low is 64°. Miami weather can be weird, so we recommend double checking the weather several days before the event.
We love all the kiddos in our lives and so this was a tough decision! We've ultimately decided that the wedding ceremony and reception will be adult-only events. We hope this event can be a welcome date night! If you have any concerns about this, please reach out.
We know that decision-making can be complicated right now and is unique to each person/family. What is most important to us is that you feel easeful and supported in making whatever decision is best for you and your family regarding attending our wedding. We would love for you to join us, and we love you all no matter what you choose to do. We know with certainty that we will not be postponing our wedding (and we expect that the good ol' state of Florida will continue to allow such a gathering), so if you want to start to plan, please do so as we will not be changing the wedding date. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any concerns or questions.
