Flight
Providence (Rhode Island T.F. Green) Airport is 30 miles (35 minute drive) from downtown Newport. An Uber is approximately $45 (outside of surge pricing). The 14 bus leaves from the Airport Interlink station every hour and takes 90 minutes to get to Newport. It arrives at the Newport Visitor Center and costs $4 per ride. If you are feeling adventurous or interested in a more scenic route, you can take the Newport Ferry from Providence. There are 4 ferries per day, the ride is about an hour and the cost is $12 one way. There is a free shuttle to the Providence Ferry Terminal from the Providence train station and downtown center, both of which can be reached by cab, Uber or bus from the airport. Boston Logan Airport (BOS) is ~75 miles (or a 1.5 to 2 hour drive). From BOS there are trains into Providence or Wickford Junction, which is a 25 minute Uber from Newport.
