We're Getting married!

Jahred & Rukiya met October 2016 in Los Angeles, CA while attending college at AMDA and both pursuing their passions for dance. The two first met in a dance production audition during a partnering portion, where Jahred was given the option to choose from a line of young ladies to be partnered with. Out of the options, Rukiya was the one he chose. The two had found an instant chemistry, but neither acted upon it that night. A few days later the two ran into each other on the street, where they both acknowledged a familiar face. Jahred, was without a doubt drawn to her beauty. He proceeded to ask for her number. After texting for a few days, they decided to meet with one another and talk in person. Rukiya was in her senior year and Jahred being a Freshman; Rukiya was far from focused on guys and dating. Having been dealing with the loss of her late mother; whom passed in 2015, she was actively building a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Jahred was fresh out of High School, ready to enjoy all college had to offer. He realized that out of all the girls he had talked to in the past and present, Rukiya was unlike any of them. As a Christian, he admired and respected her boundaries and the two connected on an even deeper level. The two began officially dating in January of 2017. On March 25th, 2017, Rukiya decided to fully dedicate her life to the Lord and get baptized. While in support of her monumental decision, Jahred couldn’t help but feel the tug of the Holy Spirit and the two both got baptized on that day. Prior to the baptism, Rukiya's hearts desire was to be intentional and include God in her decisions concerning future relationships. In that time, both Rukiya and Jahred, got word from God that they were to be each other’s spouses and help mates. Throughout the past five years, God has taken each of them through a grooming and maturing process to fully prepare them for who they are meant to be in Christ and for one another, which leads us here today.
