๐ช The Jaago Ceremony: Literally translated as "wake up," the word Jaago is an energetic, late-night party held to announce the upcoming wedding and invite the community to join in the festivities.The Ritual: The women of the family stay awake all night, singing, dancing, and visiting the homes of neighbors. The focal point is a decorated, copper or brass pot (the jaago) filled with lit earthen lamps, also fueled by mustard oil. ๐ The Chuda Ceremony: The chuda (or chooda) is a traditional set of ivory, red, and maroon bangles gifted to the bride by her maternal uncle (her Mama). The Ritual: Held on the before the wedding, the bangles are first purified and blessed in a mixture of milk and rosewater
