The Venue

The Flashlight Factory was built in 1887 as a stamping factory it manufactured many goods from automobile grills to train parts. In the 1920's Hipwell patented the single cell battery and flashlight which became the factory's bread and butter for over 80 years. In the early 2000's the Flashlight Factory went dark until Elaine Stone and Mitchell Schwartz purchased the factory in 2010 to create loft and event spaces.
Not only is it an incredible venue, and a glimpse of industrial history of Pittsburgh, but we believe its a glimpse of what God desires our marriage and life together to be about, proclaiming Christ and calling people out of Darkness and into His Light.
What better place to celebrate than the building where the early flashlight was patented and produced.
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9
