Jade and Eric met while serving in the Peace Corps as high school science teachers in Mozambique back in 2012. They both had their eye on each other, and stayed friends while Eric went off to UVM for medical school and Jade traveled to India and pursued a career in Public Health. Over the years they stayed in touch and reconnected initially as friends. After chatting for a while during the pandemic, Eric eventually bought a one way ticket to Chicago and the rest is history. They started a family with two cats, Calvin and Lan living in Andersonville and eventually moved to Plattsburgh, New York where they spent the last two years as Eric finished his residency and Jade worked as a data engineer. During that time they had many adventures and acquired a new adventure partner in Paloma, their rambunctious Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy. Eric proposed while on a canoe camping trip to Bear Pond in the Adirondack Mountains in September 2024. It was magical, serene and perfect. Since then, Eric finished up his medical residency and the family moved to Middlebury, VT where Eric would start his first job as a family physician. Jade merged her coding and public health skills and they are enjoying their lives in a quaint Vermont college town with each other, their pets, and all seasons of outdoor adventures. They've supported each other through broken ankles, career changes, triathlon training, relearning to ski, and have fallen more in love with each adventure, time spent outdoors, watching sci fi shows, and pet cuddling couch sessions. They're grateful for a partnership that gives them courage to make the world a better place, and look forward to sharing that love as time goes on.
