We met on Match.com a week or so before school started back up in 2017. Ironically, we worked in the same district, had mutual friends (through theatre) but would have never met if Andrew had not messaged Jade. At first, Jade was unsure because a lot of Andrew's pictures were VERY serious, except for ones from when he was a camp counselor at Camp Weloki. Andrew's initial message pointed out all the things they had in common (both teachers, physically active, involved in theatre) so after messaging for a week or so, they agreed to meet.

On the Friday after the very LONG first week back with students, two tired teachers agreed to meet for dinner/drinks. Jade asked if they could meet earlier... because, teacher tired is real. They met at an expensive wine dive, but one look at the menu from both of them resulted in an immediate change of plans to go to Hofbrau for drinks and appetizers. Jade revealed she is allergic to wheat, and Andrew admitted to being a longtime vegetarian. Both talked for hours, later walking around The Quarry area until midnight, despite the long week. Conversation was easy and both of us felt totally comfortable revealing deep parts of ourselves right away. Jade immediately knew it was right, and canceled all other potential Match.com dates, knowing Andrew was The One.
