We can't wait to welcome you to South Africa to celebrate our special day with us! January is peak season in the Cape Winelands, so at this time we are asking guests to prioritize securing their accommodations. Accommodation availability in the vicinity of the wedding venue is limited and typically books up quickly. For your convenience, we are including below venue-adjacent hotel information, general flight recommendations, and a travel planner for our out-of-town guests.

Many of you are staying at Devonvale Golf & Wine Estate - a short 5 minute drive from our wedding venue. If you haven't already, please send a copy of your ID & Cellphone Number to reservations@devonvale.co.za for access to the estate upon arrival. Complimentary shuttles will run from the following hotels and locations on January 3rd and January 4th: Devonvale Golf & Wine Estate Rouana Guest Farm Coopmanhuijs Boutique Hotel & Spa (central Stellenbosch - easy walk from many other hotel options)

Flight

Fly to Cape Town

Flights are now available for January 2026. Generally, first-release flights are more expensive unless you are using reward points so it may be best to set a Google Flights alert to monitor the price. For those traveling from the US, both United (from EWR/IAD) and Delta (from ATL) offer non-stop flights directly to Cape Town (CPT). You may also fly via Europe or the Middle East for more options across most major airlines. Often, these multi-city flights are more competitive. If you are booking a safari near Johannesburg (JNB), most airlines also offer multi-city triangular flights, where you can fly in to JNB and home via CPT, depending on how you arrange your journey.

Rental Car

Rent a Car

You may choose to rent a car to get around Cape Town during the week. If so, all major car services are available from CPT airport. The Winelands are around 45 minutes from Cape Town City Center. In Cape Town, Ubers are a safe, convenient and inexpensive way to travel. We suggest ordering Uber Black or VIP when you choose to use them. In the Winelands, Ubers will be difficult later in the evening. If necessary to drive later at night, we suggest pre-booking a taxi or car service. Transportation for our wedding will be provided to and from Devonvale (hotel block). We DO NOT recommend public transportation options, so car rentals, a driver, or Ubers are your best bet. Remember, South Africans drive on the left!
