Aaron and I met the first Sunday I moved to Topeka for school. I went to church with a family friend that morning; she introduced me to several people, the last introductions featured the Kettler's. Jon and Shannon were beyond kind. They made small talk and asked me questions while Aaron and Alynne stood beside them looking completely disinterested in the conversation. I thought Aaron was cute (beside the fact he went to KU) and he was the only person my age in the church so I thought I'd try to spark some conversation. I asked what he was majoring in at KU and he quickly replied, "Sport management", which was followed by a long and awkward silence. I figured he'd at least ask me a question, but he didn't. I was slightly embarrassed and a bit agitated that the only guy my age (and an attractive guy) responded with a two-word sentence and didn't bother asking me anything. Come to find out he thought I was kinda pretty and just got a little shy in the moment. A few weeks later he messaged me and since then we've been arguing about whose sports teams are better, going on adventures, and making memories. I also found out he is not shy - quite the opposite actually :)
