Question

Where is San Miguel de Allende?

Answer

San Miguel is located in the state of Guanajuato in Central Mexico and was declared a Unesco World Heritage site in 2008. Despite receiving huge numbers of visitors, San Miguel absorbs them well and locals mix warmly with their foreign guests and residents. It is not a beach town like your typical Mexico tourist destination. San Miguel was voted #1 Best City in the World by Travel + Lesiure 2017. Question

What day should I arrive?

Answer

If your schedule allows, we recommend arriving Wednesday 10/21 or Thursday 10/22 at the latest. Most flights arrive early afternoon or evening. From the airport, there will be another hour of travel by car to get to San Miguel. You'll want to be well rested for the weekend so give yourself enough time for travel. Please book your flights as soon as you can so we can assist with any transportation or bookings.

Question

Will I receive a formal invitation?

Answer

Yes, we plan to mail those out in early summer of 2020! More information will be on the invitations, on how you can RSVP to each event & choose your dinner option for the reception.

Question

What's the currency in Mexico?

Answer

The Mexican Peso. Many hotels and restaurants do take credit cards and US dollars, but most of the smaller places are not set up for it. There are money exchanges like Intercam and Monex. It's best to carry pesos.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

The weather should be sunny and warm (70F-80F), while most nights will be cool and clear (40F-6oF). However, note that the altitude – 6,400 ft – means that you’ll need hats/sunscreen during the day, and layers at night. Also, there's no humidity! Definitely be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes as the entire town has cobblestone streets and some areas are hilly.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to venue size limitations, the guest list is strict. If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! If you want your kids to join please contact us directly.

Question

Are electrical outlets the same as the US?

Answer

YES! Outlets in Mexico are type A/B – the same as the US.
