Samantha, or Sammi as Jess lovingly calls her, is a “sister by choice not by blood”. The two have been friends for almost half their lives! Samantha once wrote in a Christmas card “God knew no one could possibly handle the two of us,” and Jess said “ so He made sure we’d find each other later”. The two have overcome much adversity together, growing up and influencing one another with the love they share for each other.

Aaliyah is one of Jess’s closest friends from high school. As time goes by, a phone call makes it stand still. In high school Aaliyah would always be the friend who would take the gang for a ride (also because she was the first of us to get her license) so we could decompress, laugh about the day, and get a caramel frappe. A true confidant, someone Jessica has shared secrets, laughter, tears, and adventures with over the last eight years. When the two are together there is sure to be laughter, deep conversations, possibly video games, and some catching up on the good old days. Jess looks forward to future trips to New York, and Aaliyah is always welcoming as the ultimate itinerary planner. While Aaliyah may no longer play with Jess in an orchestra, the two somehow manage to stay together and play in tune with one another in their different sections of life.

A true friend, who always invited Jess to anything and everything. Meaghan, along with some other Stonehill pals, showed Jess friendship in the most meaningful way. Meaghan had been there for Jess (and Jake) these past three and a half years. Never one to pass up the opportunity to do something fun, new, and at times unusual, Meaghan will also be that one friend that someone recognizes in public. Her character makes Jess a better person, and she is the friend that people rave about as their “ best friend from college”.

Sarah Eddleston

Ironically enough, Sarah was Jessica’s boss at Burger King when she’d come back to work between college breaks. Sarah pushed Jess to work hard and play harder. An unlikely friendship that God had always intended. Sarah has been with Jess through some tough times in the adulting world. Having there differences made their similarities so much more interesting. The older sister Jessica never had, and the little one Sarah never wanted? (JK!) The two pretend to be tough and unloving towards one another, strong independent women who don’t need to wear their heart on their sleeves, rather their intelligence on their shoulders. This pretend couldn’t in actuality be farther from the truth as the two are actually very close and enjoy spending time walking their children in New Bedford and in Fall River.

Some may hear Jess referring to her Meatball, that is the ultimate partner in crime! Elán knew Jess and Jake long before the two began dating. Elán and Jess have so many things in common, it’s almost like they’ve lived similar lives. The best part is their love for life, fun, God, and… JERSEY SHORE!! The pair love dancing in any room where an Alexa will play their favorite song, and the two will celebrate each other for hours. To say Elán is a good role model underplays her role she’s had on Jess’s life. Elán and her husband are a young couple who emulate Gods love the way Jake and Jess wish to do. Having a soulmate in life is one thing, having a meatball is completely different! Whenever Jess needs a girls weekend, it’s probable she’ll be with her meatball in some sauce.
