FAQs

Question

Is parking available at the venue?

Answer

Yes, there is parking at the church and at the reception venue. The Church has parking in the front on 39th Street and in the back lot. There is somewhat limited parking at the reception venue. There are around 40 parking spots available at the venue, in addition to street parking. There is a parking lot immediately next to the venue, along with a lot across the street. We recommend considering parking at the Red Hawk Casino and taking the shuttle to the venue. It's about a 10 minute drive from the Red Hawk to Sequoia Mansion.

Question

Will the reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The reception is indoors, with cocktail hour being indoors and outdoors.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask that you wear semi-formal or cocktail attire. The venue has flat cement so no need to worry about heels with grass!

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Due to space constraints, we will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation and the RSVP page on our website. Thank you for your understanding and we can't wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! Make sure to bring your ID.

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Yes, kids are welcome to attend. Parents can make that decision for themselves, but please fill out your RSVP form accordingly so we can plan. In full disclosure, please also keep in mind that this is an adult event, we will be having an open bar, and adults will be drinking.

Question

I've never been to a Catholic wedding, what should I expect?

Answer

We're having a Catholic ceremony without the mass. The service is expected to be less than an hour. The order of the ceremony includes: introductory rites, the liturgy of the word, the celebration of marriage with vows, and the concluding rites. You can expect to sit and stand for different parts of the ceremony. We plan to pass around a pamphlet showing the order of the ceremony.

Question

Is the weather always hot in California?

Answer

For most of the year, yes. But by the end of October, we should be expecting high-60s to mid-70s during the day and mid-50s come night. Placerville tends to be a few degrees colder than Sac!
