Getting to the Island: You must take a ferry to the Island. Ferries leave from Mackinaw City, south of the Mackinac Bridge, and from St. Ignace, north of the Mackinac Bridge. There is free day parking at the ferry docks and paid overnight parking. Online tickets are cheaper than buying them in person and there will be a discount for the wedding. If you choose to stay off island the last ferry leaves at 7:30 or 8. The reception ends at 10pm. Flying: There are several options. The least expensive is to fly into Detroit, rent a car, and drive north (4 hours). You can fly into Pellston Regional Airport (.5 hour south of the Mackinac Bridge) and either rent a car or take the Mackinaw Shuttle. Reservations are required (231-539-7005). You can fly into Chippewa County Regional Airport (1 hour north of the Mackinac Bridge) and rent a car or take a shuttle. Mackinaw Shuttle (number above) might be available or you can try Northern Transport and Shuttle (906-430-5337).
