We met in 2014 while working as camp counselors at Outlaw Ranch, a Lutheran summer camp in the Black Hills. It's no coincidence that we chose Outlaw as our wedding ceremony venue - many formative moments of our relationship happened there. After getting to know each other at camp, Jake asked Becca to be his girlfriend in January of 2015. Unsure of how she felt about a long distance relationship, she said no. Fortunately, she quickly changed her mind and called him back the next day to say yes! We then made it through three years of long distance, before graduating from our respective universities and moving to Sioux Falls, SD together. We're so glad that we found our way to each other and that now, we get to spend every day together.

Jake proposed while we were hiking in Jay Cooke State Park in the Fall of 2019. We had camped there the night before on our way into Duluth for a long weekend. Jake didn't have a spot for the proposal planned before our trip, but he knew when the moment was right and chose a beautiful spot overlooking the St. Louis River. It was perfect. We spent the rest of the weekend in Duluth celebrating with lots of good food and beer, more hiking, and happy calls to friends and family members.

We live in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with our cat, Oscar, our dog, Astro, and five chickens. We bought our first house in September of 2020, and have enjoyed working on it to make it feel more like home.
