Jacob and Mollie met at Thursday Trivia at Spencer Devon Brewery in downtown Fredericksburg with mutual friends and coworkers. It all started over a disagreement on the question of “Where is America’s largest Naval base?” Thankfully, Mollie would eventually forgive Jacob for costing their team a crucial point that night. Their instant connection was only broken when Mollie ran out of the restaurant after receiving a phone call from the callbox at her apartment. Mollie, so distracted by the person she had just met, was inattentive to the plans to host her friend, Susanna, who had just arrived from out of town. Jacob and Mollie would find each other on social media while continuing to attend future trivia nights, and the rest is history.
Jacob, coincidently, would be traveling home from America’s largest Naval base, Norfolk, when he made a late stop by the Nesaw house to ask for Alan and Lynn’s blessing and receive the piece of jewelry Mollie coveted most – her Nannaw Glynn’s engagement ring. Mollie’s sleuthing would grow her suspicions, and subsequent anxiety, over the next few weeks. Just as she had given up hope, the couple decided to have dinner on Friday evening at Red Dragon Brewery, hosting their favorite food truck, Will’s Place. Mollie shrugged off the uncommonly nice attire Jacob wore for the occasion, instead opting for her workout shorts and OBX Brew Thru t-shirt. Jacob’s nerves grew throughout dinner as he continued planning out his next moves. While walking home along the Fredericksburg Canal Path, the couple ran into their feline friend, Pete, allowing Jacob some time to gather himself. Jacob proposed to Mollie at the intersection of their street and the path – next to the historical marker or trashcan (depending on who you ask). Jacob, having received a positive response, proceeded to put the ring back in his pocket for safekeeping. Mollie quickly corrected the ring placement, and the couple continued their walk as the evening light dwindled. We're excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you. See you in Fredericksburg!
