Buttermilk Falls State Park
This park offers swimming below the waterfall, hikes along the gorge and picnic area.
Taughannock Falls State Park
Easy and mostly flat hike to the base of the waterfall. Picnic area, playground, boating and additional parking across the street from hiking trail.
Ithaca Farmers Market
Local farmers market that features fresh groceries and flowers, prepared food and artisan goods. A great place to get lunch and sit by the water and browse to local goods.
Cornell Botanic Gardens
Walk through the expansive gardens and some tours are available. Gift shop offer a small selection of food and drinks.
Ithaca Commons
A 4 block pedestrian walkway that offers a variety of restaurants and shops. Some personal favorites are Buffalo Street Books, Angry Mom Records, and Alphabet Soup Toy Store.
Cayuga Lake Wine Trail
There are more than 50 wineries, distilleries, cideries and breweries in the finger lakes region with about 16 on Cayuga lake. Finger Lakes Cider House, Ports of New York, Six Mile Creek, and Knapp Winery are some suggestions.
Sciencenter
A great place for kids but also fun for adults. If the weather is great they have a fun science based mini golf course.
