For the more adventurous travelers, there is Pulpit Rock which is a hike right across the lake from Nelson. It is considered moderately challenging, but has a breathtaking view of the city. Will take you about 1.5-2 hrs to complete.

WARNING: During early June, the road and trail may still be snow covered. Ask Kristen or Jacob about trail access before you embark. Access this provincial park via Kokanee Glacier Road off of Highway 3A. Walk the Old Growth Trail (about 20min drive up), then head up to Gibson Lake, another 7min drive up the road. There is no fee to access the park.
