There are several options for you. I would recommend flying into either Kelowna or Cranbrook and renting a car there. For the cheapest flight, I would fly to Calgary and drive through Banff if you've never seen it before. That is a 7hr drive to Nelson. You can also fly into Edmonton and drive 3.5 hrs to Jasper and drive the Icefield Parkway. If you hate driving, there is an airport in Castlegar which is only 30min away. See the Travel section on this website for more information. You can take a train! Or make it a road trip, however you'll want to allocate about 2 weeks to do a cross country trip.
This is totally up to you, but at the very least, fly in on Saturday and fly out on Monday. Ideally, you can have 3-4 days to explore the region. The Kootenays is absolutely beautiful and I hope you have the opportunity to stay for a bit. Kaslo and Nakusp are gorgeous little towns to explore if you have a few days to spare. Or travel across the lake via the ferry (free) to explore the quaint little town of Crawford Bay.
Cocktail Attire/Semi Formal: Cocktail dress, little black dress, dressy jumpsuit, suits or slacks/dress shirts.
Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and for considering a gift for our wedding celebration. Please know that your presence at our wedding is the most important gift, and we are grateful for your support and love. We have decided to kindly request monetary gifts in lieu of physical items to help us begin our journey as a married couple. Therefore, we have not put together a gift registry.
We kindly request that you do not bring a plus one unless you have noted a plus one on your survey response. If you are not sure, reach out to Kristen or Jacob.
Children and babies are allowed at both the ceremony and reception. We kindly request that you let us know if you intend to bring a child or baby.
We kindly request that you do not take photos during the 30min ceremony, but encourage you to take photos after the ceremony and at the reception with your cell phones. Our photographer has requested that guests refrain from taking photos with a professional camera (cell phones only).
