Welcome

According to Jacob, we met during our senior year of college, while attending a Thank You dinner for graduating seniors who had volunteered as tutors. He clearly recalls meeting Heidi at that dinner - the group was discussing what their post-graduation plans were, and he made sure to memorize her face, because she was doing Clarkson's MBA the following year. Heidi vaguely remembers a guy mentioning he was also doing the MBA, so this could be true. Monday, August 21, 2017 was the start of the MBA program for Jacob and Heidi. Jacob showed up early to the welcome banquet, and scanned every face looking for that girl from the spring; he had a few false starts, but right at 7:58am (the itinerary said arrive by 8am, thank you very much!), he spotted her, and knew she was the one. He tried all day to grab a moment to say hi, but alas - that day happened to be the day of the Great American Solar Eclipse. Right as the eclipse was beginning, he found her in the crowd. "Heidi!" he said, "It's so great to see you again!" Heidi turned around to look at him and said "Oh right, yeah - Hi.", and went back to looking at the eclipse. Jacob was disappointed - she clearly didn't recognize him at all! Later that week, Heidi saw Jacob reading in the lounge area of their program. "What are you reading?" "Oh, you wouldn't know it." he replied. "No, I read a lot, try me!". "It's pretty obscure, just a fiction book." "No really, I'm interested! What book is it?" she insisted. "It's by Jeff Wheeler, book 5 of his Kingfountain Series." he replied grudgingly. To his great shock, she replied, "Oh, I loved it! I'm on book 6 right now." And so began a lifetime of Heidi surprising Jacob (and their mutual love of books).
