In 1910, this was a general store. In 1973, this became Tides Tavern, one of the best places in Gig Harbor for seafood and a drink. The same family has been running the tavern for about 50 years and is a local favorite. The tavern is for 21 and over only.

This is the only museum west of the Mississippi River dedicated to glass as an artistic medium. Watch artists shape glass in front of you in the Hot Shop or walk through the Chihuly Bridge of Glass. If your stay in Washington is long enough to explore Seattle, one of Claire's must-visit locations is Chihuly Garden and Glass, featuring the work of Dale Chihuly.

Tacoma Narrows Bridge

Tacoma Narrows Bridge

Tacoma Narrows Bridge, Tacoma, WA

Walking across the Narrows Bridge in Tacoma is an urban hike within Tacoma city limits. Two hundred feet about the Puget Sound, you have an incredible view of everything from wildlife to mountains to open sky. The bridge path starts on Jackson Avenue, but there’s no parking there as the street is pretty busy. You can park in any of the neighborhoods around the bridge, but the best place to start your walk is War Memorial Park, one of the biggest collections of memorials in the Seattle-Tacoma area.
