We're Getting Married!

On a chilly Wednesday night in September 2019, Jacob arrived at youth group with a couple of friends. That same night, through mutual connections, he was introduced to Christina. How many evenings had they unknowingly attended youth group together without crossing paths? No one could say for sure. Neither of them was searching for love at that moment—but God had other plans. That night would become especially significant, marking the very beginning of their love story. Before the evening ended, Jacob asked Christina for her Snapchat, and from there, their conversations continued. Both found themselves talking to friends about how cute the other was, yet, for now, they remained "just friends." As the weeks went by, they got to know each other better—sharing their interests, hobbies, and personal stories. Then, Christina invited Jacob to join their church's youth retreat at Canandaigua Lake. Jacob, hesitant at first since he was still new to the group, eventually agreed. Little did he know, that weekend would change everything. One evening during the retreat, Christina, Jacob, and a few friends wandered down to the lake, spending time at the Game Center before heading outside. Under the night sky, sitting by the water, the two found themselves deep in conversation—sharing their testimonies, life stories, and hearts. It was in that moment, surrounded by the stillness of the lake, that they both began to fall in love. The weekend flew by, but something between them had changed. Not long after, Jacob asked Christina out on their first date. Then came October 14, 2019—the day Jacob asked Christina to be his girlfriend. Since then, Jacob and Christina continued to grow deeper in love with each other. Which led to Jacob proposing to Christina on January 7, 2025– Jacob chose this date in significance of 7 (God’s favorite number) and on the beach during sunset. Jacob was well aware that Christina loves sunsets and the beach. A love story that started with a simple introduction, guided by faith, and written by God.
