Our lives intersected many times throughout college and the early days of our careers. It wasn’t till two members of our wedding party, the Dooley’s, rented a house in Royal Oak where we became staples of each other’s life’s. Over the next four years Jacob asked Briana out for a date more times than he can count, and after many attempts she finally said yes. Dinner dates, wine nights, and tailgates marked the first months we spent together. Shortly thereafter, Briana left to travel nurse around the east coast. This was our first real test as a couple. We spent countless hours on FaceTime, watching Briana’s favorite films which continue to be played on repeat. Over the next few years, we went on many vacations, cruises, and trotted around the globe. At each and every stop Briana always made sure to stop take a moment and capture the memories before they flitted by. The December of 2023 Jacob finally worked up the courage to ask Richard for Briana's hand in marriage, and Jacob began planning to make the most special engagement for the most special woman. Unbeknownst to us, God had other plans in store for them and on 1/8 (the same day those Wolverines made it all the way) we noticed a strange lump on Briana's neck. Soon thereafter, Briana was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This began a long battle, filled with many tears and almost as many laughs, that ultimately proved Briana to be the fighter we all knew she was. By August of 2024 Briana was declared cancer free, and boy did we celebrate! Then on Valentine's Day of 2025, Jacob got down on one knee and asked Briana to be his wife, and she said yes! Now we get to celebrate our union in front of all of you! We are so excited to see you and celebrate with you!
