One of Pittsburgh’s most vibrant neighborhoods, the Strip District is a historic market area just outside downtown known for its mix of old-school food vendors, international grocers, and newer restaurants and shops—anchored by the beautifully redeveloped Strip District Terminal. It’s a great place to explore at your own pace, whether you’re grabbing a bite or just wandering the variety of shops and activities. Some of our favorite food spots here are PA Market, Kaya, and Novo Asian Food Hall, and for something to do, we love stopping into Posman Books, playing a round at Puttshack, or buying some treats from the Pennsylvania Macaroni Company or Enrico Biscotti Co!
A suburb in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Mt. Lebanon offers a mix of walkable downtown streets and quiet neighborhood areas. In Uptown Mt. Lebanon, you’ll find boutique shops, cafes, and restaurants—our favorites include Sesame Inn, Pamela's Diner, and Bistro 19. On Saturdays, check out the Uptown Farmers Market for local produce and treats, and for shopping, the nearby Galleria at Mt. Lebanon is a great option. A short drive away, the Beverly Road area offers a quieter, neighborhood vibe, with favorites like Mediterra for brunch and F&F Pizzeria for great Italian food. Both areas are perfect for exploring a local side of suburban Pittsburgh.
For one of the best views in the city, head up to Mount Washington. You can take the historic Duquesne Incline for a classic Pittsburgh experience and enjoy sweeping views of the skyline and rivers!

If you have some extra time in town, catching a baseball game is a fun way to experience the city. The Pittsburgh Pirates play at PNC Park, which is often considered one of the most beautiful ballparks in the country, with incredible views of the skyline and river. As it happens, the Pirates are in town around our wedding weekend! There’s a home game the day before the ceremony on July 9th against the Atlanta Braves at 12:35 PM, and another the day after on July 11th against the Milwaukee Brewers at 4:05 PM. If you’re looking for a relaxed, very “Pittsburgh” activity to add to your plans, this is a great option.
