Flight
Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport (BHB) – located right outside Bar Harbor town. Bangor International Airport (BGR) – about 50 miles (1 hour) from Bar Harbor. Portland International Jetport (PWM) – about 175 miles (3 hours) from Bar Harbor. Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) – about 280 miles (4.5 hours) from Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor Airport (BHB) is a small regional airport located just outside of town. Flights to BHB are limited and typically connected through Boston, but it can be a convenient option for those able to secure a connection. The most commonly used airport to get to Bar Harbor is Bangor International Airport (BGR), located about 50 miles from town. From Bangor, guests can easily rent a car, take a shuttle, or arrange for an Uber/Lyft to get to Bar Harbor. Flights to Portland or Boston may be less expensive, but the drive is longer. We recommend flying into Bangor for convenience if available, but Portland and Boston can be great alternatives if you’re looking for more flight options or to explore New England and enjoy a scenic fall road trip (SEE BELOW TRAVEL NOTE!).
Hotel
Our wedding will be held at the Bar Harbor Inn, where we will also be staying. We have a reserved room block under the name “Spilsbury Ramirez Wedding.” Rooms in the Newport Building are included in the block, but the Oceanfront Lodge and Main Inn rooms are also available outside of the block if desired. It is not required for guests to stay at the Bar Harbor Inn. Bar Harbor is a vibrant coastal town offering a wide range of accommodations all within walking distance or a short drive from the venue. For those looking for additional or more affordable options, nearby towns also have accommodations: Ellsworth (30 minutes away) Bangor (1 hour away) We encourage you to stay wherever feels right for you— what matters most is that you’re with us for the ceremony at 11:30 AM on October 17, 2026.
Travel Note
If your schedule allows, we highly recommend turning the wedding into a mini fall getaway. October is peak foliage season in New England, and a road trip from Boston to Bar Harbor is one of the most scenic drives in the country. Along the way you’ll find charming coastal towns, colorful forests, and plenty of opportunities to stop for mountain views or fall festivals. It’s the perfect way to soak in the beauty of New England before or after celebrating with us in Bar Harbor! We will be hitting the road after the wedding! Ask us about it :) Some of our must sees include: Coastal Maine Portland – Enjoy a lobster roll, explore the Old Port, and visit the iconic Portland Head Light. Kennebunkport – A quintessential seaside town with boutique shops and harborside views. Vermont Stowe – Covered bridges, local breweries, and Smugglers’ Notch drive. Woodstock – A postcard-worthy New England village with shops, covered bridges, and green commons. Burlington – Overlooking Lake Champlain, with a vibrant downtown and craft beer scene. New Hampshire White Mountain National Forest – Scenic foliage, covered bridges, and beautiful hikes. Kancamagus Highway – A legendary 34-mile drive through the White Mountains, famous for breathtaking fall foliage and panoramic overlooks. Portsmouth – A historic coastal city offering boutiques, great seafood, and a lively waterfront.
