Visit where we had our first date! This speakeasy is incredibly special to us as it holds not only so many memories of where we first met, but also is where we love to take friends and family as their cocktails and small appetizers are worth the visit alone! Zach highly recommends the 'Smoked Manhattan' and Jaclyn the 'Ruby Rose'.
O'Shaughnessy's Distillery in Minneapolis is one of our favorite places to go to with friends or for date night. Their signature cocktails and delicious food make this place a must visit, and if you are lucky to catch them with food trucks you are in for a real treat with their gorgeous outdoor patio!
Pasta is our love language, and Red Rabbit is an all-time favorite! With multiple locations throughout Minnesota, if you are craving comforting, modern Italian, Red Rabbit is the place! Jaclyn is notorious for ordering the Pappardelle Bolognese every time (literally orders it every...single...time...) and Zach loves the Garlic Bread Cheese Curds and Spicy Salami pizza with chili honey glaze.
I told you pasta was our love language, so of course we have multiple pasta recommendations! Cosettas is a staple in Minnesota and definitely worth the visit. And don't forget about their market! Cossettas holds some of Jaclyn's most fond memories as her dad, Jim, would host the most epic pizza making parties for friends and families with Cosettas pizza dough, sauce, cheese and meats from their market.
We have to be honest, Baldamar is not easy on the pocketbook... but is by far the best steakhouse we both have ever been to and we are self-proclaimed steak connoisseurs, so we have to include it. Relatively newer to Minnesota, Baldamar is located in Roseville and worth the visit. Great service, swanky atmosphere, and to-die-for steak and appetizers, we give it five stars. We highly recommend the Char Grilled Street Corn appetizer, Bread is Life (basic, but sensational), and of course their Filet Mignon. They also offer a fabulous Sunday brunch if you are feeling fancy the day after our wedding.
Obviously, this is Jaclyn's recommendation and not Zach's as this is probably his least favorite place on earth. But c'mon - it's the MOA! And not to mention, Minnesota has no sales tax on clothes so basically, it's free - Jaclyn math. You're welcome ladies and check out Vuori for me. Zach won't let me buy anything more there so I will live vicariously through you.
A bit of a drive, but definitely worth it if you are looking to extend your Minnesota trip. One of the reasons we chose late September for our wedding was how much happiness the gorgeous Minnesota color pallet brings us in the fall, and Duluth is the best place to enjoy it and will take your breath away. The shoreline, small shops, boardwalk - everything is sensational.
