Getting from Denver International Airport (DIA) to West Denver

Here’s a list of options for traveling from Denver International Airport (DIA) to West Denver. 1. Public Transportation Denver has a convenient public transit system operated by RTD (Regional Transportation District). Steps: Take the A Line Train: Board the RTD A Line (commonly called the University of Colorado A Line) from DIA to Union Station in downtown Denver. Trains leave every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes during off-peak hours. Cost: $10.50 (covers unlimited rides for the day across RTD services). Travel Time: About 37 minutes to Union Station. From Union Station to West Denver: Check the RTD bus schedules for routes that connect to your specific destination in West Denver. Popular routes include the 16L or W Line Light Rail. To get to the Sheraton or Fairfield in West Denver (Hotels chosen for hotel block) board the W Line: Take the W Line light rail towards Jefferson County Government Center – Golden Station. Disembark at Federal Center Station: This is the closest station to the Sheraton Denver West Hotel. The hotels are about a 15-minute walk (approximately 0.7 miles) from Federal Center Station. Alternatively, consider booking a ride-sharing service or taxi from Federal Center Station to the hotel. 2. Renting a Car Reserve a Car in Advance: Most major car rental companies (e.g., Hertz, Enterprise, etc.) operate at DIA. Altitude Sickness: What to Know Before the Wedding

We are so excited to celebrate with you in beautiful Colorado! While the scenery is breathtaking, the elevation can also be a little challenging for those not accustomed to high altitudes. Our wedding venue is located at 8,600 feet above sea level, and Denver (nicknamed the "Mile High City") sits at 5,280 feet. The thinner air at higher elevations means less oxygen, which can lead to altitude sickness for some people. Here’s what you need to know to ensure you feel your best for the big day! Altitude sickness, or acute mountain sickness (AMS), happens when your body struggles to adjust to lower oxygen levels at higher altitudes. Symptoms can appear within a few hours to a day after arriving and may include: Headache Nausea or vomiting Fatigue Dizziness or lightheadedness Shortness of breath Difficulty sleeping Precautions to Prevent Altitude Sickness: Hydrate!! Higher altitudes can dehydrate you more quickly, so drink plenty of water in the days leading up to and during your visit. Avoid excessive alcohol and caffeine, as they can worsen dehydration. Acclimating to Denver If possible, arrive in Colorado a day or so early to allow your body to adjust. Eat Well Focus on balanced meals with plenty of carbohydrates, which can help your body adapt to higher altitudes. Pack for the Climate High-altitude areas can be cooler, especially in the evenings, so bring layers. The sun is also stronger, so sunscreen and sunglasses are a must. Moisturize The air is drier at higher altitudes, so pack lip balm and lotion to stay comfortable. Talk to Your Doctor If you have a history of altitude sickness or health conditions like heart or lung issues, check with your healthcare provider. They may recommend medication, such as acetazolamide, to help prevent symptoms. Parking and travel to and from Table Mountain Inn

Parking Information: Public Parking: If you plan to stay longer than two hours between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. in Downtown Golden, there are convenient parking garages and parking lots close to downtown. See Park Golden Co Map 'N Park for locations. The first two hours are free, each additional hour is $2.50 to a maximum of $10/day. You must register your vehicle at the payment station or online, even if you plan to stay less than two hours. After 5 p.m. you can park for free except in the neighborhood permit zones. Valet Parking: Available at Table Mountain Inn for $25. The first 2 hours are free with validation from the hotel or on-property restaurant. Free Parking: Free street parking is available. Guests can also utilize Table Mountain Inn parking lots and Woody's Wood Fired Pizza parking lots (both free). Public Transportation from Sheraton Denver West Hotel: Light Rail & Bus: Take the W Line light rail from Federal Center Station (near the Sheraton) to Oak Station. From there, transfer to RTD Bus 17 toward Golden, and get off at Washington Ave & 13th St, just steps from Table Mountain Inn. The total trip takes about 1 hour and 17 minutes and costs approximately $9. Taxi or Rideshare: A direct ride takes about 20–25 minutes and typically costs $45–$60. Carpooling is great when possible!
