A Love Story

But first, coffee.

Jaclyn and Edwin met at Starbucks in 2014 and quickly bonded over their love for coffee and strong work ethics — at the time, both were in relationships, so they naturally focused their energy on a friendship. Years later, both had moved on from Starbucks, and they found themselves on the dating market at the same time. At first, Jaclyn was hesitant to risk their friendship by dating, but Edwin insisted they give it a chance. So they did. They soon realized the love between them as friends was so much more and had so much more to offer. There was no doubt they were each other's better halves. They moved to Los Angeles to start anew and had no idea what obstacles were ahead. Half a year into living together, Covid came, unexpectedly changing their work, home, and life balance — testing boundaries and showing what their relationship was capable of, they found themselves even more in love. Life settled into a new normal, and they decided they were ready to start a family together — marriage was a minor detail when you knew you’d found your forever person. Two years later, they welcomed baby Leo into the world — and, once again, found themselves falling even more in love with each other. Edwin proposed on a spontaneous day trip to Catalina Island — only after Jaclyn had unknowingly derailed several planned proposals and was about to derail the final one — he quickly asked a stranger to take their photo while loading onto the boat back to shore — he knelt on one knee. He asked her to marry him; Jaclyn, in total disbelief, managed to nod “Yes.” Surrounded by a hundred strange travelers in awe of their magical moment, they began their engagement. Raising a baby as a first-time parent and planning a wedding simultaneously was no easy feat, but the support of family and friends has been unconditional. Jaclyn and Edwin are delighted to share their love with each one of you on their wedding day. Thank you for being a part of their love story.
