Colin's favorite line is to tell people they met in prison while Jaclyn was working. He likes to make people believe he was an inmate, so Jaclyn receives horrified looks, only for him to clarify it was when she came up to his housing unit that they were introduced for the first time.

When Colin first asked Jaclyn to go get dinner, he likes to tell her he had no idea she would even say yes (even though they had been talking non-stop for a while at that point). He took her to a really nice restaurant, but unknowingly to him, he took her to a spot where she and her friends racked up a pricey bill a few months prior, so she ordered a salad so that it wasn't extremely expensive for him (trying to be a polite lady). He still doesn't let her live it down, to this day.

One month into our relationship, we found out we were pregnant with our son Merrick. At the time, we hadn't built much on the relationship but found ourselves now tied together forever. We agreed that although the timing wasn't ideal, we would figure it out and make it work. We actually got engaged on August 28th, 2021 in the parking lot of the hospital (I was too impatient to wait longer), and we eloped on August 29th, 2021, exactly 5 months after our first date. We had the idea that we wanted to be married before our son arrived, but we still wanted to have a wedding later. Colin's older brother Josh married us, and we decided to celebrate with our family the following summer. So welcome to our second wedding!
