This love story began long ago before either of the two realized it. Both families were intertwined through The Oakland Dynamites where the parents put their small children in football and cheer. The eldest Nelson brother Curtis, Julian, and now brother-in-law Jerraud all played on the team, while Jasmyn cheered from the sidelines from the time she was six until thirteen. Those early years were full of spirit rallies, long practices, and familiar faces including Jasmyn & Julian's. As time passed, life carried them in different directions. Although the two crossed paths briefly at Skyline High School, they were just two teens moving through life without knowing the future ahead. Even then, Jasmyn & Julian were still basically strangers who happened to know each other's government names. Yet life always had a way of weaving them together through mutual friends, social gatherings, family and even work. It wasn't until mid 2023 that everything changed. Life had brought both Jasmyn & Julian through difficult, and even some heartbreaking chapters. In the middle of loss, healing, and rebuilding, they found each other. What started as a simple visit to the business of a childhood friend blossomed into something deeper than either of them expected. Friendship sparked first which was genuine, effortless and comforting. That friendship grew into something undeniable, leading them toward love, partnership, and a bond that felt both brand new and years in the making. From childhood sidelines to high school hallways and reconnecting again as adults, their journey has been long, unexpected, and beautifully written.
