She's a sommelier and engineer from Charlotte who loves agriculture, archery, and indoor cycling. He's an eastern North Carolina dental student from Rocky Mount who is passionate about NC State sports, hiking, and pulp and paper sciences. The two of them are Wolfpack fans through and through and spend their weekends driving around NC State's campus talking about how much things have changed in the five years since they've left.
Deirdre and Jackson met at NC State University during Deirdre's freshman year and Jackson's junior year. At the time (2015), Deirdre had just joined Phi Sigma Pi (PSP) with Gibson (Jackson's younger brother) and was filling out fellowship applications at the lounge in Mary Ann Fox Labs. Jackson had finished a class and the two chatted for a while. It wouldn't be until 2017 that the two would get together over a series of dinner dates, brewery tours, PSP events, and football tailgates. Special recognition given to Jake Barrett who interned with Jackson at Proctor and Gamble who showed Jackson the texts that Deirdre sent him about the Russell brother who worked with toothpaste.
Deirdre and Jackson traveled across the country numerous times and have stopped at over 45 different cities around the United States, hiked 17 unique trails, been to 16 local breweries in the RDU area, eaten at 15 restaurants featured on Diners Drive In's and Dives, cheered the Wolfpack Football team through 45 games (both in-person, on TV, and at a random fan meetup in Denver, CO), had 5 intense "Cardiac Pack" moments with NC State athletics (2 of them being Clemson games), and together they hold a collective 6 degrees from NC State University.
