Leighann and Marcus first crossed paths on Hinge, where Leighann made the bold first move. They spent a month chatting online, but Marcus took his sweet time setting up an actual meet-up, leaving Leighann thinking he wasn’t that into her. ( He had covid but did not want to kill the convo with this ) Just when she was about to move on, Marcus finally invited her out for a classic Taco Tuesday at Bar Taiko in the West Loop. It was a night full of margaritas, tacos, and enough laughs to make them both wanting more. Bonding over a past career in sports and their drive for their current passions the conversion was endless. The weather was chilly, with the perfect light flurry in the air— a rom-com moment. As they said goodbye that night, they also said goodbye to their dating profiles and have been inseparable ever since. Now, they call the West Loop home, where they love discovering new restaurants, hopping between cocktail lounges, and catching Bulls games when they can. After two years of dating, traveling, and making endless memories, Marcus popped the question during a getaway to the Bahamas.
