a day to remember

We met when we were twelve years old at Truth School, a Christian week long camp in the Church in Irving. It was 2011, and although we were just kids, there was something about that place—a place dedicated to truth, to faith, to growth—that made us feel like the seeds of something greater were being planted in our hearts. Through the years, we saw each other at conferences; opening the door for one another, smiling when one prophesied and cheered each other on during any games. When we were sixteen, we finally decided to pursue something more than just a friendship with the guidance of our parents. We spent hours on the phone talking about life, about God’s plan for us, and about our hopes for the future. Even then, we felt His presence in the conversations, guiding us, shaping our hearts toward each other in the Lords perfect timing. We continued to grow up together, always anchored by faith. But it wasn’t until we were nineteen and twenty that we truly began to talk about courting seriously. We didn’t rush it—we knew that when God has a plan for something, it’s worth waiting for. In May 2021, we began praying together, seeking God’s direction, asking Him to lead us clearly in our decision to take the next step. The more we prayed, the more we felt a deep peace, a knowing that this was the right time. We saw the hand of God at work in the ways our lives had intertwined, and we trusted that His plans were greater than our own. In November 2021, after months of prayer and seeking God’s will, we made the decision to begin out courtship, knowing that this was not just a choice we were making for ourselves, but a path that God had paved for us. We got engaged on May 19, 2024 right before Marianas graduation party where our family was able to be there and celebrate with us. We were so lucky to then celebrate this huge milestone with so many people we loved. We continued to use that summer to begin figuring out how to plan a wedding and make it a beautiful day. Looking back, we see how God’s timing was perfect all along. Every moment, every prayer, every step led us to this point, and we are so grateful for how He has brought us together. We truly believe that God is the center of our relationship, and as we move forward into this new chapter of our lives, we are excited to continue seeking His guidance, growing in faith together, and trusting that His plans for us are more beautiful than we could ever imagine.
