We met through a mutual dancer in the holding area of a monthly dance showcase we were both performing separate pieces in. We both thought the other was too big for their britches so we didn't go pass the usual LA small talk, both danced in the show and thought nothing of one another after that. UNTIL we were facebook friends (nobody knows who asked who) and Spencer slid into my DMs after me liking a thanksgiving picture of him spending the holiday away from family for the first time, which was the same for me that year. We took it from messenger to text and then after seven consecutive dates of me, Jackie, hearing stuff like "Well if I was your boyfriend then..." and "I wouldn't do that if you had a boyfriend like me," I turned to him one night and asked, "Do you really like?" and Spencer replies, "Yeeeah.." And my analytical self goes, "..well... I like you too... So let's just be together," and I'm pretty sure I made him throw his arm around me and the rest is history.

After celebrating Christmas, the girls of the family took me ring shopping & the last store we visited had a closing down discount for everything being 70-90% off storewide. Just when I was about to lose hope I spotted it, exactly what I was looking for at a steal. Jenny, Spencer's mom, took me to one more place outside the mall we were. At the same time we were heading away from the ring, little did I know, Delaynie (Spencer's sister) texted him to go get the ring we just left. By the time we got home, I found Spencer sitting in the same exact spot playing Xbox with his younger cousin, what seemed to me unmoved and unphased. The leo that I am, sat next to him and started showing him all the pictures of the different rings I tried on that day not knowing that he had already bought the ring and hid it in his room before I even got back. The true kicker of the story: On our way back to LA, Spencer hid the ring on his checked bag bc he thinks I'm noisy & would go rummaging through his carry on bag, I'm rolling my eyes, but his checked bag got lost! We landed in Burbank & Spencer was LIVID. Me not knowing what was going on said to him "Babe it's just bag. Don't stress too much about it. Everything in there is luckily replaceable." He's silent, nostrils flared, and he goes, "You sit out here & I'm going to go talk to someone." Long story short, he got his bag back from Oakland & got a free flight to dallas where he planned to ask me to marry him.
