Things To Do

Fridays After Five

Fridays After Five

700 East Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902
, (434) 245-4910

If you get into town on a Friday then you MUST go to Fridays After Five. This is a free concert series hosted right in the heart of Charlottesville on the downtown mall. For those of you staying at the Omni this is in walking distance.. and yes beer and wine are available for purchase.

Blue Mountain Brewery

Blue Mountain Brewery

9519 Critzers Shop Road, Afton, VA 22920
, (540) 456-8020

Charlottesville is known for having great places to sit and drink. Blue mountain brewery is our favorite in the surrounding area. Though , it is a little bit of a hike from downtown Charlottesville it has great beer, a decent view and is right next other vineyards and breweries - Devils Backbone brewery and Bold Rock cider (just to name a few).

Bang!

Bang!

213 2nd Street Southwest, Charlottesville, VA 22902
, (434) 984-2264

Great tapas style asian restaurant right off the downtown mall

The Downtown Mall

The Downtown Mall

E Main St., Charlottesville, VA 22902

You are going to hear us mention this a lot on our website. The Downtown Mall is one of the longest outdoor pedestrian walking malls in the United States and the hottest destination point in Cville. It has loads of fun restaurants where you can eat outside, places to listen to music, and charming little shops. We highly recommend visiting this area.

Monticello

Monticello

931 Thomas Jefferson Pkwy, Charlottesville, VA 22902

If you are a history buff then you can't miss Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello. Get your tickets in advance - we learned this the hard way when we tried to just pop in with Meg's parents.

Humpback Rock Hiking Trails

Humpback Rock Hiking Trails

VA

Begins at the south end of the Humpback Gap parking area, provides access to Humpback Rocks (1 mile), Humpback Mountain (2 miles), and the Humpback Rocks picnic area (3.9 miles). About a half-mile up the blue-blazed trail, hikers can reach Humpback Rocks from a spur trail on the left. The strenuous 700-foot climb rewards hikers with spectacular views of the Rockfish and Shenandoah Valleys. On your way back it would be easy to swing by some of the vineyards/breweries ... just a thought. - Between getting there and actually hiking this is an all day event.. if you're late to our wedding we know where you're sleeping...

For all the days along the way
