Will there be a shuttle to the wedding?

Answer

The wedding shuttle to Mount Ida Lodge will pick up and drop off guests at the Omni Hotel in downtown Charlottesville. If you are not staying at the Omni you can still take an Uber or park in the Omni parking lot to catch a ride. The bus will depart the Omni at 4:15pm

Is there parking at the wedding venue?

Answer

Yes, if you wish to drive yourself you will be able to park at Mount Ida Lodge. If you end up partying a little more than you think you will you are able to leave your car at Mount Ida over night as long as you pick it up the next day by 11am. * Cell services is spotty at best so have the directions handy.

Directions to Mount Ida Lodge

* GPS tends to take you a back way and adds 10-15minutes of driving time, so please follow directions below. Directions from Route 64: - Take exit 121 Scottville/Charlottesville - Head toward Scottsville (left off exit) onto Route 20 South (travel approx. 6-7 miles) - Turn left onto Carter Mountain Road - Take an immediate right onto Secretarys Road ( travel approx. 3 miles until you reach a 4- way stop) - At 4-way stop turn right onto Blenheim Road ( travel approx. 2.5-3 miles) - When you arrive to the black and gold "The Lodge" sign on the left, turn left onto Moonlight Drive through the open iron gates - Follow Moonlight Drive until you reach the Lodge * Please note that these are country roads so be extra cautious of wildlife and do not drive if you are drinking.

Which hotel should I stay at?

Answer

*Please book your accommodations as soon as you are committed to coming to the wedding!! There are other events that weekend and places are booking up fast. The wedding party will be staying at the Omni Hotel and this is where the shuttle(s) will depart from. If you want the true Cville experience, want to hit the bar scene and/or be in walking distance of restaurants this is what we recommend. However, they do have a 2-night minimum and comes at a cost. If you still want to be close to downtown/the shuttle we recommend Courtyard by Marriott - University Medical Center (on West Main Street) or Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott (on Cherry Avenue). Of the two, the Courtyard is the more fun option. Though not walking distance to the Omni it IS in walking distance to the UVA and local bars/restaurants. Finally, if you are just looking for decent proximity to the wedding and don't want to fool with downtown traffic we recommend the Hilton Garden or the Comfort Inn right off route 64.
