We met in the magical land of tumblr, way back in the day when it used to be cool. Both of us ran similar climbing blogs and began following each other who knows how long ago... 2011 ish. We kept up with each others lives via social media for several years and chatted periodically never having met, but maintaining a friendship and making connections. In the summer of 2018 we met for the first time in real life while Jackie was on a work related trip in Colorado. It became clear then, that if nothing else, we wanted to remain friends no matter where our lives took us.

He had planned this wonderful getaway weekend for the both of us in hopes to surprise me with a Proposal. On the beach of Big Bear lake, at sunset, he was setting up a camera or two in order to "get some sunset photos" together. His elaborate cover story was well received and in return I say yes without hesitation.
