Old San Juan is where the ceremony is taking place, and it is absolutely stunning! It is known for its vibrant colors, amazing shops, piraguas, and the cobble stone streets that are original from when the Spaniards were there! There are many rooftop bars and amazing restaurants we recommend below! We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes!
This is such a fun activity! Puerto Rico is known for having three bioluminescent bays permanently on the Island! We recommend that if you would like to go on the tour to go at night so that you can see the best, and to wear clothes you are okay with getting wet! Fajardo is about 50 minutes away from San Juan, so plan accordingly!
El Yunque is the rain forest in Puerto Rico, and it is absolutely beautiful! If you enjoy hiking and swimming in waterfalls, this activity is for you! El Yunque rainforest does not require tickets if you are looking to just hike. You can park and walk in for free, but there are other amenities that do require a ticket, and that can be found on the website. If you choose to do this activity, wear clothes that you are okay with getting wet, as well as a bathing suit for when you reach the waterfall, and bring anti-nausea medicine if you get car sick for the drive up the mountain!
El Morro is a fortress from 1539 that is in Old San Juan! If you are interested in culture and history, this is the activity for you! This is about 15 minutes away from where the reception will be. After exploring this fortress, we recommend getting a Piragua (Shaved Ice with syrup!).
This church is in Old San Juan, down the street from where Jack and I are getting married, and where my sister Giselle and her husband Stevie got married! This church is the oldest church in the United States, and the second oldest in the Americas! It was initially built in 1521 from wood, but it was destroyed by a hurricane and rebuilt in 1529, with the current structure dating back to 1540.
If you are looking for a fun place to go with amazing restaurants, shopping and dancing, this is it! There is parking in front of the venue, and it is close to where the wedding events are taking place!
If you are in Old San Juan, this restaurant is family owned, and close friends to us. They have piraguas (shaved ice with syrup) with rum, and fantastic mojitos!
This is one of our family's favorite restaurants to go to for Puerto Rican food. They have fantastic Churrasco with Chimichurri (skirt steak), Mofongo (mashed plantains), and ice cold Medalla (puerto rican beer). Puerto Ricans are known to always have the AC blasting, so bring a small jacket if you get cold easily!
This cocktail bar is in Old San Juan, and it has fantastic drinks! This is also a fantastic place to come to dance, try different cocktails, and experience the fantastic culture that we love so much! Fun Fact: The Despacito music video was filmed in this bar!
Rincon is known for amazing surfing, amazing food, and fantastic beaches. It is on the other side of the island, so you will need a car! If you are thinking of doing this, we recommend making a small trip out of it, there are many airbnbs nearby! It is a fantastic way to unwind and relax before or after the wedding!
