Travel Note
We promise the views are worth the journey! For our lovely guests travelling from the North West and the Midlands, the good news is that you can reach Milan in around 2 hours by plane (which is probably quicker than getting across the M6 on a Friday). Once you land, getting to Bellagio is part of the adventure, you’ll find trains, transfers, taxis and ferries all available, we recommend this handy guide for the different travel options and routes to Bellagio:
House Or Rental
We recommend considering villas or apartments through Airbnb or Booking.com, as hotels in Bellagio tend to be very expensive. However, accommodation is entirely a personal choice, so please book whatever option feels right for you.
Flight
This is the closest airport to our venue and the one we recommend most. Direct flights are typically available from Manchester, Liverpool and East Midlands with Ryanair. Bergamo offers the quickest and easiest transfer to Lake Como and is usually the cheapest option.
Flight
The largest airport serving Milan, with the most flight times and flexibility. Direct flights are available from Manchester with easyJet and Ryanair. Transfers to Lake Como take around 1.5–2 hours.
Flight
A smaller airport closer to Milan city centre. Direct flights are available from Manchester and Birmingham with easyJet. Transfers to the venue are straightforward and take around 1.5 hours.
Travel Note
For taxis or minibus transfers from the airport, we recommend not using Uber in Italy, as it can be unreliable and very expensive. Instead, we suggest booking in advance with Holiday Extras. They offer free cancellation, competitive rates, and reliable transfers to Bellagio.
Rental Car
When we visited Lake Como, we hired a car from Autosystem at Bergamo Airport on the spot and honestly couldn’t fault them. The price was very reasonable, the process was really straightforward, and the service was friendly and hassle free. If you’re planning to rent a car for your trip, we’d definitely recommend taking a look at them as a reliable and reasonably priced option. We would recommend booking directly with the company and avoiding booking through Ryanair.
