The Wedding Website of Nicole Yasmin Smith and Jack Liam Kirkham
Travel & Accommodation Below are our recommendations for where to stay and which airports to fly into. We recommend that guests stay in the heart of Bellagio, ideally near the ferry port (as shown on the map). Our wedding venue is just an 8 minute drive from here, and we will be providing transport on the day. Please avoid staying on the opposite side of Lake Como, as it will be very difficult to get back after the wedding celebrations. As a quick heads up, taxis are very limited in this area, so please keep this in mind when booking your accommodation. We suggest arriving on Tuesday ahead of the ceremony, although this is completely flexible and whatever works best for you. In terms of travel from the airport, the easiest option is by car, although both car hire and taxis can be quite expensive. Public transport is available, using a combination of train and ferry routes to reach Bellagio. You’ll find a step‑by‑step guide to using public transport in the link below.

Travel Note

Getting to Lake Como

We promise the views are worth the journey! For our lovely guests travelling from the North West and the Midlands, the good news is that you can reach Milan in around 2 hours by plane (which is probably quicker than getting across the M6 on a Friday). Once you land, getting to Bellagio is part of the adventure, you’ll find trains, transfers, taxis and ferries all available, we recommend this handy guide for the different travel options and routes to Bellagio:

House Or Rental

Where to Stay in Bellagio

We recommend considering villas or apartments through Airbnb or Booking.com, as hotels in Bellagio tend to be very expensive. However, accommodation is entirely a personal choice, so please book whatever option feels right for you.

Flight

Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY)

This is the closest airport to our venue and the one we recommend most. Direct flights are typically available from Manchester, Liverpool and East Midlands with Ryanair. Bergamo offers the quickest and easiest transfer to Lake Como and is usually the cheapest option.

Flight

Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP)

The largest airport serving Milan, with the most flight times and flexibility. Direct flights are available from Manchester with easyJet and Ryanair. Transfers to Lake Como take around 1.5–2 hours.

Flight

Milan Linate Airport (LIN)

A smaller airport closer to Milan city centre. Direct flights are available from Manchester and Birmingham with easyJet. Transfers to the venue are straightforward and take around 1.5 hours.

Travel Note

Taxi /Minibus Information

For taxis or minibus transfers from the airport, we recommend not using Uber in Italy, as it can be unreliable and very expensive. Instead, we suggest booking in advance with Holiday Extras. They offer free cancellation, competitive rates, and reliable transfers to Bellagio.

Rental Car

Autosystem Autonoleggio Bergamo

5 Via Industria, Nuova Betosca, Lombardia 24050, Italy

When we visited Lake Como, we hired a car from Autosystem at Bergamo Airport on the spot and honestly couldn’t fault them. The price was very reasonable, the process was really straightforward, and the service was friendly and hassle free. If you’re planning to rent a car for your trip, we’d definitely recommend taking a look at them as a reliable and reasonably priced option. We would recommend booking directly with the company and avoiding booking through Ryanair.
