The Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention Center

We have secured a block at the historic Congress Plaza Hotel in the heart of Chicago! Book by Wednesday, August 14th, 2024 to secure your spot! The Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention Center has been a Windy City icon since 1893. It is walking distance from the Buckingham Fountain, the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, the Art Institute, and Magnificent Mile shopping. The Congress Plaza Hotel is a 14 minute drive, 22 minute bus ride (bus route #36 is a straight shot), or 16 minute bike ride from our wedding ceremony at the Newberry Library. It is also a convenient 6 minute walk from the Blue Line train to/from O'Hare International Airport and 5 minutes from the Orange Line train to/from Midway International Airport.

We would suggest that if you fly, you fly into Midway and take the train into the city. There is only one train from the airport to the city, so it's easy to navigate. Once you get off at the station for Harold Washington Library (also the station for State/Van Buren), the hotel is a 5 minute walk.

While it is more expensive, you CAN park at the hotel: "Self-Parking is available at garage (PARK 1) for $62.00 per day with no in-and-out privileges."
