A world famous 3.5 mile public access walk that combines the natural beauty of Newport's shoreline with the architectural history of the Gilded Age. Jack and Meg took this photo at 40 steps!
The Newport Mansions offer a unique trip through 250 years of American history, architecture, art and landscape design. Check out The Breakers, Rosecliff, The Elms, and Marble House. If you only have time for one, we recommend the Breakers.
The center of Newport's Downtown area, Thames Street is one of the oldest and most historic streets in Rhode Island. It is lined with numerous bars, restaurants, shops, waterfront and historic buildings. Our favorite spots are Kaffeology, Nitro Bar, 41 North and Diegos.
Our favorite vineyard on the island. Off the beaten path with a quaint and romantic feel. Marie-Elena's favorite is the Meritage red wine, however you can try a flight of 4 wines at a time.
Our favorite late night drive! This scenic drive, also known as Ten Mile Drive boasts breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. It's one of the best spots in Newport for bike riding, running, kite-flying, picnicking and fishing.
The best beach on the island. In October, it will likely be too cold to swim, but warm enough to walk the beach, visit Purgatory Chasm and hike the Bird Sanctuary- each close to the main entrance.
Grass tennis courts line the property, and our wedding weekend is the last weekend in the fall they are open! Walk through the grounds to watch some matches, or take a peek inside the Tennis Hall of Fame Museum.
