FAQs

The Wedding Website of Jane Dunford Gibbons and Jack Francis Warburton
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Your presence is what matters most; please dress in whatever you feel good in.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by April 1st. For our international guests, we encourage you to reply as early as possible to allow time for travel arrangements. If your plans change after submitting your RSVP, please let us know so we can adjust our arrangements.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Parking Information: Please note that the church does not provide parking and street parking in the vicinity is very limited. We kindly recommend parking at the hotel and walking to the church. It is an easy five-minute walk from the hotel. Traffic in and around Westport can be heavy, so we encourage you to plan ahead to ensure you are parked and ready in plenty of time.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We are delighted to welcome children who are part of the immediate family. For all other guests, please refer to your invitation, which will indicate whether children are included.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, absolutely! Please let us know about any allergies or dietary requirements when you RSVP. The sooner we have this information, the more time the venue will have to prepare suitable alternatives and ensure everyone can enjoy the meal safely.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

The church is only a five-minute walk from the hotel. We recommend parking at the hotel and walking to the church if weather permits. If it’s raining, you may bring an umbrella for the short walk, or have one person dropping at the church and then return to park. Because of the town’s size and limited parking, this is the easiest way for guests to arrive.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please refer to your invitation, which will indicate whether you are welcome to bring a guest.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We do not have a wedding registry. Your presence and being there to celebrate with us is the greatest gift we could ask for. We understand that many of you will be traveling great distances to be with us, and we truly appreciate it. If you would like to bring a gift, a box will be available behind reception, where you can sign in your wedding cards on the day of the celebration.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We hope to start promptly at 1:00 PM, so please aim to be in your seats by 12:50 PM. Traffic in and around Westport can be heavy, so we encourage you to plan ahead to ensure you are parked and ready in plenty of time.

Question

Do you have any accommodation recommendation?

Answer

Westport has something for everyone, from upmarket hotels and boutique Airbnbs to guesthouses, hostels, and even glamping or camping. There really is something for every taste. Westport House itself offers a range of options, including The Grace Hotel, a campsite, and a glamping village. The town has many additional options across all price points. Please let us know where you book, as it will help us with planning arrangements. Remember, Westport is a popular tourist destination in the summer, so we recommend booking early to secure the best options. Our hotel is right in the town centre, within walking distance of most accommodations.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Day Before (June 19th) Weather permitting, we’ll be hiking Croagh Patrick (The Reek). You are more than welcome to join us! Nothing formal, no pressure, just a fun way to enjoy the outdoors together. Day After (June 21st) Jane’s father, archaeologist Michael Gibbons, will lead a walk around the Westport House grounds from 12:30–2:00 PM, followed by lunch from 3:00–4:00 PM. Afterwards, we’ll head into Westport town for drinks, and a bit of craic agus ceol. We hope you can join us for any or all of these relaxed, optional gatherings!
