Things To Do

Idaho will always hold a special place in our hearts. Not only is it where I grew up, but it’s also where Jack and I met and where our love story began. The Boise area has so much to offer, from beautiful outdoor spaces to great food and local charm. Whether you’re visiting for a few days or making a longer trip out of it, there are plenty of fun things to do and places to explore. We’ve listed some of our favorite activities and spots below in case you’d like to do a little adventuring while you’re here!

Boise River Greenbelt

Boise River Greenbelt, Boise, ID

A fun, scenic path that runs along the Boise River with beautiful water views the entire way! Stop for food at spots like The Sandbar, hang out at Green Acres Food Truck Park for live music and yummy eats, and check out the river surfers by Quinn’s Pond!

Idaho City

Idaho City, ID 83631

This is one of our favorite spots, about an hour drive from Boise! We love to go to The Springs (hot springs), stop for food at The Gold Mine Grill, icecream at Sarsaparilla Ice Cream Parlor, and enjoy some beautiful mountain views!

Table Rock Trail

Boise, ID 83712

This is a fun, moderate level, family-friendly hike, the top offers beautiful views of the valley!

Cascade, Idaho

Cascade, ID 83611

If you’re up for a little adventure, we highly recommend a trip to Cascade, Idaho! About an hour and a half from Boise, Cascade is surrounded by beautiful mountains, scenic hikes, a peaceful lake, and endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. It’s the perfect spot to soak in Idaho’s beauty!

McCall, Idaho

McCall, ID 83638

McCall, Idaho is the perfect summer escape, about two hours from Boise! It’s one of our favorite places (and where Jack asked me to be his girlfriend), and is full of outdoor adventures, great restaurants, beautiful Payette Lake, hiking, family fun, and endless ways to enjoy the mountain town vibes!

The Village at Meridian

3597 East Monarch Sky Lane, Meridian, ID 83646

This outdoor shopping mall offers great food, drinks, occasionally live music and more!

North End

Boise, ID

Hang out in Boise’s North End! Go for a hike in the beautiful foothills of Boise behind Camel’s Back Park, grab a coffee from Hyde Perk, wander down Harrison Blvd and 13th Street, and check out some great local restaurants. This is one of my favorite spots in Boise!

Downtown

Boise, ID

Spend some time in Downtown Boise! It’s clean, walkable, and full of great restaurants, nightlife, and things to do during the day. It’s also right near Boise State University, home of Albertsons Stadium and the famous blue turf, and where I went to college!
