Elizabeth came to Texas to begin working as a 6th grade science and math teacher at Great Hearts Irving. It was Jack's first year in administration, but he retained one section of 6th grade science to teach - and so they taught together that year. Elizabeth and Jack were both attending Mater Dei, and had several mutual friends. While there were early, unvocalized considerations of being more than friends, Jack was in too close to a supervisory role to allow for it - so time spent together outside of school was limited for the next 6-8 months. The next school year, Elizabeth began to teach in a different capacity at Great Hearts (the Special Education room), and so Jack began to try to rekindle the friendship. On November 11, 2023 (The feast of St. Martin), Jack asked Elizabeth if he could court her. The relationship blossomed smoothly, naturally, and joyfully. Jack was attracted to Elizabeth's devotion, modesty, and sincerity, while Elizabeth was drawn to Jack's loyalty, happy personality, and warm-hearted kindness. On January 23, 2024 (the Feast of the Holy Spouses), Elizabeth and Jack consecrated themselves to Our Lady and St. Joseph (and had a great date night at the Whiskey Cake). On July 2, 2024 (the Feast of the Visitation of Our Lady to Elizabeth), Our Lady of Guadalupe made sure the rose garden at a park in Tacoma was in full bloom for Jack's proposal, which Elizabeth accepted with all her heart. They were betrothed on August 22, 2024 (the Feast of the Immaculate Heart) and are looking forward to their upcoming nuptials and a life of working together for the sanctity of each other and any children God blesses them with.
