Our story began in Madrid, Spain in 2018 as two college kids who barely made it into their study abroad programs but got very lucky. It was our first day in Madrid, and we came across each other wearing the same sunglasses on a walking tour of the city. We started talking about each other’s great style choices and never stopped talking! We were quick friends and spent much of our time abroad together, whether it was doing group projects, exploring the nightlife, or taking weekend trips to other countries, including Oktoberfest in Munich, snorkeling in Mallorca, and staying in hostels in Barcelona. We quickly bonded over our love of traveling with no itinerary and usually running late for flights :) Once we returned to Cal Poly, we quickly became more than just friends. We spent our last year and a half of college growing closer in San Luis Obispo, going to the beach, camping, and spending every day together. After graduation, we both moved to San Francisco and kept our travel streak going with unforgettable trips to Southeast Asia and Europe, and even weeks in a sprinter van through the Southwest. We’ve always loved exploring new places together with little planning and a lot of faith in credit card points—a true Jack specialty. Last summer, we moved in together and now love our mornings with too much coffee and evenings with our closest friends. Jack proposed on Father’s Day weekend along the water in Sausalito while Carly thought we were going on a boat ride with the Arfstens and they were all just running late (a perfectly believable excuse). It was the best surprise and an easy YES to spending the rest of our lives together! We cannot wait to officially start our next chapter and celebrate with all of you! Each of you has been such an incredible source of fun, love, and support over the years, and we are so grateful. Let’s get this party started!!!!
