Our Story

On a Wednesday in August of 2024, we met for the first time and walked along the canal in Walnut Creek, talking effortlessly and joyfully as we discovered that we shared many interests and goals in life. During that first date, we realized that both of us were going to Lake Tahoe that weekend. Not wanting to miss out on the serendipity, we made plans to meet up for a beach day in Tahoe and, consequently, introduce both of our groups of best friends. They probably thought we were crazy, having met only three days before, but I think even then, we knew we were going to be together forever. They say: when you know, you know - and we just knew. Our mutual infatuation led us to find every opportunity to spend time together from that point forward. Each moment we shared, we learned more about our similar aspirations and values in life. We talked as if we had known each other for years and bonded over shared experiences like traveling and scouting. Our passion for adventure and nature took us on many fun trips in our first year together: weekend getaways to Shelter Cove, road trips to Oregon, ocean swims in Kauai, and hikes around the Bay Area. We cherished every opportunity to explore together. One day in March, while sitting in the kitchen, we looked up “cheap flights to Europe” and had no choice but to book tickets to Prague for our one-year anniversary. September rolled around, and our highly anticipated trip was finally here. On the first day in Prague, Jack led me on a beautiful walk up through an apple orchard toward a monastery on top of a hill. On the way up the stairs he turned around and asked me if he looked sweaty, not knowing that this gave away what awaited me at the top. I casually told him he looked perfect while stifling my excitement and giddiness. When we reached the top of the hill, I was delighted to find a breathtaking view of Prague - and the love of my life offering me the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen. We walked back through the park to find a surprise picnic under the trees - complete with gluten-free snacks, gorgeous flowers, and playing cards for Gin Rummy. But Jack wasn’t finished yet; that was just part one of the splendid day he had planned. We paddle-boated along the river, dined at a rooftop terrace restaurant, and enjoyed champagne and dessert at yet another surprise picnic he had arranged, overlooking all of Prague lit up at night. After we returned from our dreamy engagement trip, we kicked wedding planning into gear and set off on preparing our property for our big day. We cannot wait to welcome you all to our slice of heaven and celebrate our union together!
