FAQs

Question

How do I get there?

Answer

Click on our Travel page for more info and to sign up for an airport carpool list with other out of town guests.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Whispertree is located in a beautiful oak woodland with steep rolling hills and dirt paths. The weather will likely be hot (about 80) in the day and cool (about 50) at night. We suggest sneakers, flats, or sandals for weekend activities and comfy clothes like shorts, sundresses, hiking pants or light jeans. Our ceremony and reception will be semiformal and we're asking guests to dress in warm, joyful summer colors (please no black if possible - think wildflowers, fireworks, stonefruits and melons - and a little sparkle is always welcome!) We suggest block heels, wedges, or flats for ladies. We will be walking in grass and along a dirt path so stilettos are highly discouraged. Black and navy pants are acceptable for men but please no jeans.

Question

Will there be food?

Answer

Yes! We will be serving group dinners Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights plus brunch on Friday and Saturday. There will be a breakfast bar for early risers with coffee, tea, and light bites each morning, and an easy lunch of build your own sandwiches, hand fruit, granola, and snacks each afternoon to fuel your adventures. Every building on-site has its own kitchen so feel free to bring anything you'd prefer to eat. Additional libations of your choice are also welcome! We'll have coolers and buckets with ice for sharing beverages. And water stations will be set up around the site to keep you hydrated.

Question

What is a Cookie Table?

Answer

Jackie is from Pittsburgh, PA, where this wedding reception tradition is a staple. It's pretty much as described - a giant table of cookies handmade by loved ones! Local guests (and out of towners who are dedicated!) are encouraged to contribute their favorite kinds or family recipes to make it special. We'll have a huge spread of cookies to eat from all evening and to-go bags for midnight snacks later. Trust me, it's a thing! Question

Where will I sleep?

Answer

On-site lodging is limited and reserved for our families and out of state friends. If you haven't received a personalized message about staying on-site, please plan to make your own arrangements. We recommend the Boonville Hotel (10 min from venue), Indian Creek Inn (15 min from venue), or AirBnB options.

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Folks who are staying on-site may want to bring some of the following items: headlamp/flashlight, refillable water bottle and travel coffee/tea mug, sunglasses and hat, bathing suit and towel for the hot tub or swimming pond, jacket and beanie for potential cool nights under the stars, small backpack or bag for transporting your stuff around the property, comfy walking shoes or outdoor sandals, and sunscreen.

Question

Can I bring a date? Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Because of limited venue space, we unfortunately can't accommodate plus-ones beyond those named on the wedding invitation, and all events are adult-only.
